The gifts will be distributed to the neediest families in Mijas on the 23rd of December

The Three Wise Men are almost here and they come loaded with gifts, only in this case, they have some unique royal pages, the members of the Danish Club, who have raised funds for the purchase of these gifts, which their majesties from the East will deliver to the children served by the  New Culture of Development Association (Nueva Cultura del Desarrollo), based in Las Lagunas, which this Friday received these packages full of illusion. "These are Christmas presents for children who are at risk of social exclusion and children who we help throughout the year by giving them food from Bancosol; so we are very grateful for this gesture of the Danish Club, with which we are going to get wonderful smiles from Mijas children," said the coordinator of the Association Nueva Cultura del Desarrollo, Rosa Planelles.

The Danish Club is made up of 300 members. Throughout its history, they have supported many charitable causes for the benefit of different groups in Mijas. One of its members, Hellen Tychsen, assured that "this is because children are always at the heart of the club's members, so we will continue to collaborate with associations that help children".

  • The Danish Club has donated 100 toys to the association

On the afternoon of the 23rd December, these presents will be distributed to the neediest families in Mijas. The Department of Foreigners has acted as an intermediary in this cause and is grateful for the social work done by the Danish Club, and not only now, but throughout the year. "I am very grateful for the solidarity work carried out by the club, this and the one they do every month by donating food to the neediest families," said the Councillor responsible for the area, Aracha López (Cs).

The Department of Foreigners has been working since its inception to encourage the involvement of these groups in Mijas society and their needs. "Fortunately, Mijas has a very high number of foreigners because they are very supportive groups, who collaborate in many social causes that benefit many families in our municipality and other neighbouring ones," said López.

This batch of toys will be joined by more from the BNI Vision Malaga business group, who have also thrown themselves into this cause. The businesses in the area also collaborate with the donation of food regularly to help the Asociación Nueva Cultura del Desarrollo in their work with 112 families in the municipality.
