It is already a reality. Mijas will become the capital of music on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd of September 2022 with a macro-concert that will bring together great national and international artists. A musical event that has been in the making for more than two years, “with which we place Mijas at the epicentre of the great music festivals in our country and also internationally. An ambitious bet that has been made from the local government team and, more specifically, from the area of Fiestas,” said the Mayor of the city, Josele González (PSOE).
This is the first edition of the festival, which has a long-term vocation. As the mayor said, “we are talking about a festival that will be with us for at least the next five years, where we will also be announcing more groups throughout 2022. We have many surprises in store”.
Agenda 2030
The event’s commitment to the 2030 Agenda and the environment of our town is one of the cornerstones of Cala Mijas. Therefore, the festival will base its ideals on a model that will promote local commerce. An experience where music, said the organisers, will be enjoyed while taking care of the planet and supporting a sustainable cultural model. Likewise, said the Mayor of Fiestas, Tamara Vera (PSOE), “all music lovers will be able to enjoy the good food we have in the municipality, as well as the sun, the beach and the mountains. This is the birth of a great festival for all fans of musical culture.
On the other hand, the Town Hall informed that there will be a pre-sale of 5,000 tickets at a reduced price of 80 euros. On the festival’s website (calamijas.com), those interested can join the waiting list to access this pre-sale from 29th November for 48 hours or until tickets are sold out. The rest of the tickets will be on sale next Wednesday 1st December, from 9 am, on the festival’s website and at seetickets.com/en.
The Fiestas Department asks all those interested to keep a close eye on the festival’s social networks where “new news will be announced, including the exact location of this festival with a capacity for 50,000 people”, concluded Vera.
