To learn more about the work carried out from the Donkey Dreamland ‘burrito’ shelter, last Saturday, October 23rd, the association organised an open house with various activities, including “esparto crafts, face-painting and an artisan soap workshop”, reported Donkey Dreamland President, Amaya Isert. “We are showing the ‘pleita’ and ‘tinajera’ processes”, explained local artisan Sonia Lekuona, “so that we can see the evolution and the steps to follow to obtain the final product. We have also exhibited finished products so that everyone can see what can be created with esparto grass”. Patsy Sweeney, in charge of the face painting area, explained: “I visited the shelter six weeks ago and I loved what they are doing. I later got in touch with them to help promote the centre”. On the other hand, Felicidad, from Mabón Jabón, offered a “workshop to teach how to make cold soap based on oil and caustic soda”.

Isert informed that the group is also organising an esparto grass workshop to take place on November the 6th.
