Little by little, after the health situation has improved, the Lions Club is resuming its activity and, most importantly, its charitable events to help those who need it most. On the night of Wednesday 1st, and with this purpose, the members in Mijas Pueblo organised a solidarity dinner at La Bodega del Pintor.

“From the club we always add a small margin to the price of the meal in order to raise funds and be able to help people. This year, despite the fact that we have barely been able to meet, we have managed to help neighbours who have had a really difficult time during the pandemic”, explained Fernando Juanes, president of the Mijas Pueblo Lions Club, which currently consists of more than thirty of members.

Amparo Tejón, manager of La Bodega del Pintor, added: “in my family we are also lions, so we are delighted that the club is holding its event here”.

In addition to dinner, attendees enjoyed a musical evening in the company of, among others, the violinists María Smith and Constanza Arias.

It was a very pleasant summer night on the terrace of this well-known Mijas restaurant, which, despite everything, ended the month of August with a very good balance. “The prospects were not very good but in the end we have worked very well this summer, although after so many months we have been caught somewhat untrained”, said Tejón, who also announced that “although the Mijas Fair is not to be held as usual, at the Winery we are already thinking about how to enjoy these special days in our own way”.
