The government sub-delegation in Malaga reported this Wednesday that a total of eleven companies have submitted offers to the tender for the rehabilitation project of the A-7 highway, as it passes through the municipalities of Fuengirola, Mijas and Marbella. The works, valued at just over 8 million euros, are now in the process of being awarded.
The project includes reinforcing the road surface of a section of road of almost 30 kilometres that runs through these three towns, and will improve safety for drivers. They will consist of the rehabilitation of the surface of the trunk roads and roundabouts, shoulders, bus stops and median crossings, acceleration and deceleration lanes of its service roads and access to urbanisations. The project also includes the repainting of all existing road markings in the sections to be repaired.
Since June 2018, the Ministry of Transport has invested more than 26 million euros in the maintenance of the roads in the province of Malaga.
