The mayor of Mijas, Josele González (PSOE), municipal representatives and those responsible for markets made a visit on the first Wednesday of the night time opening of the La Cala market. “I think that a move has been made to improve both as regards organisation and quality. This has been done mainly by the hand of the great professionals that we have in each of these stalls and above all an initiative that this department has started up after listening to the street vendors”, pointed out González.
Together with the councillor for Markets, Verónica Ensberg (PSOE), the mayor heard first-hand from business owners and clients, that this new schedule is an opportunity to buy outdoors and at night. It opens at dusk and the public is attended to until midnight, this being the first summer night market.
On the other hand, the councillor for Markets made reference to the improvements and novelties that the market presents. “Our objective is to continue promoting our markets. It is the second year that the fees have been eliminated, we are always in contact with the merchants and promotional campaigns are carried out at different times of the year. As a novelty, we have installed anchors in the markets of La Cala and Las Lagunas”.
The La Cala market will be open on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 20:00 to 00:00 hours until next September 4th and in it residents and visitors will find variety, quality and close up and friendly attention.
