Estanco Alonso, located on Calle La Unión in Las Lagunas, is celebrating a stroke of luck. "Once again, we've delivered luck. It seems we're on a winning streak. On the 9th of August we gave a second prize in the National Lottery, then again on the 21st of August, and now, on Sunday 7th of September, it's been the big one, we've awarded the biggest prize in our history here at Estanco Alonso", explained the shop manager, Carlos García, referring to 'El Gordo de la Primitiva'.
This lottery office validated the ticket of a first-category winner in the draw held on Sunday, with a prize of over six million euros, specifically, 6,006,341 euros. The winning combination was: 19, 6, 27, 11, 31, with 4 as the refund number. In total, two first-category tickets were validated, the other being registered in Barcelona.
"It was the first prize of Sunday's 'Gordo de la Primitiva', and the winner, whether a local resident or not, is unknown", added García. Nothing is known about the winner. A bank will now be responsible for paying out such a generous amount. As for this shop, faced with such luck, García noted that sales have soared, with customers flocking in, hoping to strike it lucky themselves.
