They enjoyed on stage and, moreover, they did it for a good cause. The dancers from the Dance With Freedom dance academy put on a varied show on Friday 15th for the benefit of the Mijas Association for People with Disabilities (Adimi). "The people who are part of Adimi are magicians with the children. The truth is that they do an incredible job and from here we try to make an appeal for other people to also collaborate with them, please", expressed the teacher and director of the academy, Eloísa Muñoz.
This is not the first time that this academy has collaborated with Adimi. "The truth is that all the help we can get from all the events we can do is very useful", said the president of Adimi, Cristóbal Moreno, who explained that "2024 has been a complicated year for Adimi. We are very happy because we always have the support of the people, but we continue to grow and that means that we have more and more users and, therefore, more needs and the truth is that we do not stop".
The show was attended by the first deputy mayor, Juan Carlos Cuevas Dawson (Vox): "‘This is for a good cause already known to all, for Adimi, and everything we can provide is welcome. I have known Eloísa for many years and I am very grateful to her for contributing her work in this way, to help such a beautiful cause as Adimi", said the deputy mayor.
A solidarity academy
Located in Calahonda, Dance With Freedom offers classes in different types of dance and has students from the age of two upwards, including adults, as well as integration classes for people with disabilities. "For all the people who contact us we try to do our bit, I wish we could do this charity show more often so that we could collaborate more", added the director of the academy.
Some 60 artists from the academy, children and adults, took to the stage to offer the audience a colourful show of classical ballet, acrobatics, hip-hop and contemporary dance. Those who are part of this "big family", as the students of Dance With Freedom feel, assure that they are much more than an academy. Values such as integration, self-esteem, self-confidence, discipline, fun and perseverance are what they work on every day in their dance studios.
