After the drawing of lots on Tuesday for the 1,600 places for the ‘Senior Citizens Trip 2024’, a period of three working days opened so that the elderly can pay for the trip to Melilla, while the beneficiaries of the trip to Granada will pay for it later.
On wednesday morning the list with the 1,600 winners for the Senior Citizens Trip 2024 was published on the notice board and on the Mijas Town Hall website, 600 of them to Melilla and the rest to Granada, after the town hall held a public and transparent draw on Tuesday due to the fact that there were more applications than places on offer.
The beneficiaries of the trip to Melilla will have three working days from the publication of the list to pay by credit card the public price of the trip, 6.5 euros per person. Payments can be made at the Las Lagunas Senior Citizens office on Thursday 10th and Monday 14th from 9 to 14 hours and on Thursday 10th, Friday 11th and Monday 14th, from 16 to 19 hours. In addition, they can also pay at the Senior Citizens offices in Mijas Pueblo and La Cala on Friday 11th, from 9 to 14 hours. However, if a senior citizen from Mijas Pueblo or La Cala cannot do it in this time period, he/she can do it without any problem in Las Lagunas, preferably in the afternoon.
For the trip to Granada, the deadline to pay will be established by another resolution of the Senior Citizens department, which will also be published on the notice board and on the website of the Town Hall.
Those awarded who do not make the payments for the trip within the established periods will lose their right to participate in the trip, and the vacant places will be occupied by those seniors on the waiting list, which includes 101 people.
For Melilla, three shifts have been established. The first will take place from the 21st to 24th of October, the second from 25th to 28th and the third from 28th to 31st October, while the dates for the trip to Granada are still to be determined.
