The campaign ‘Andalucía, Mares que Saben’, (Andalusia, Seas that Taste), promoted by the Junta de Andalucía, will reach La Cala de Mijas on Friday 16th of August. Since last week, the initiative has been touring the coastal provinces of our region with the aim of promoting the consumption of fish and seafood from Andalusia. On Thursday the campaign will reach Malaga, offering 42 actions that will take place on 16 beaches in 13 different municipalities, one of them here in La Cala de Mijas.
With this campaign, the Andalusian Regional Government wants to support a sector that stands for product quality and sustainability. Assuring that this is a sector interested in conserving and protecting the seas and fishing grounds, which is why they are now publicising the benefits of traditional coastal fishing and aquaculture products from Andalusia, all with the aim of promoting its consumption.
On each beach there will be an information point, informative and promotional activities, and informative material to distribute among the population, such as ichthyometers, recipe books, coolers, bags, sunshades and children's games.
This campaign, which has a budget of one million euros and 200 actions on the beach, has been awarded one of the twelve stars on Europe Day, in recognition of its contribution to social and territorial development.
