The Civil Protection group in Algarrobo, a town with around 6,300 inhabitants, has just been reactivated after some time of inactivity. "From here we have the opportunity to donate material that is not being used and they need it", explained the councillor for Civil Protection in Mijas, Francisco Jerez (Vox), who also stressed that "we collaborate with them when it comes to offering us support, both at events and fairs we can count on their group, just as they can count on ours in case they need us". 

Currently, the group of this municipality in Axarquia has 30 volunteers, "little by little more volunteers are signing up, we need them because we are starting again now", said the head of Civil Protection in Algarrobo, David Pendón, "we need the basic material, and we have organised it with the head of Mijas, we already have a headquarters and two vehicles, little by little we are going up", Pendón added. It is a matter, according to both groups, of strengthening the bonds of collaboration. "It is part of us, of volunteering: helping others. And in this case, we help Algarrobo, and at the same time, they are also helping within their municipality", said during the delivery Toñi Castro, head of the group in Mijas, who stressed that  "that is the most beautiful thing, to collaborate and help each other". 

The councillor took advantage of this meeting to highlight the work of the Civil Protection volunteers. "They do a commendable job. We must highlight the selflessness of these people who dedicate their time to the municipality", concluded Jerez.
