The good initiative of Andalucian Nomads Golf Society Spain and the 70 players who took part in the charity tournament in memory of Craig Thomson on the 9th of May have made possible the donation of 2.090 euros to Age Concern and Adimi, money that has been split 50/50. 

Roger Wedge, organiser of the event, said yesterday at the presentation of the donation at Bar Marie, "The reason the 9th of May was chosen was because the 10th was Craig's birthday, he passed away in November. We played on a Tuesday all together and about 70 players turned up that day, then we came back here for lunch and held an auction and raffle. In the end, we raised over €2,000, which is fantastic".

Craig Thomson's family were proud that the owner of Bar Marie is being remembered for charity. His wife, Marie Ewen, said "I just want to say thank you to everyone who took part in Craig's memorial day. It's only been six months since he passed away, but the turnout of friends, family and golfers was incredible. I thank The Nomads [the organisers], because without them the day would not have happened". His stepson, Jordan Ewen, said he was "very happy for all the money that has been raised and to be able to do this for charity".

The beneficiary associations are grateful for the collaboration and support that this association has given them since its inception. Michelle Greenwood, Events and Fundraising Manager at Age Concern, said it was "fantastic, I mean €1,045 is a great donation to the charity, which will help a lot of people. It's very, very good. For her part, the manager of Adimi, Laura Villa, pointed out that "Roger is a person who has been helping us for many, many years, practically since the association was set up, so for us he is a guardian angel who accompanies us every year and, bearing in mind that the economic situation is getting worse and worse, we are grateful for this help and at times when we need it even more".
