Mijas ends the year with an extensive calendar of Christmas activities

  • The Royal Postman kicked off his visit to Mijas on Tuesday |

Pastorales, a flamenco zambombá and the Royal Postman have been on the agenda for the last days of the year in the municipality

The Christmas calendar in Mijas continues with activities for the end of the year. Pastorales, a zambombá flamenca and the Royal Postman are some of the events that arrived in the municipality to be enjoyed by the families in Mijas, as recalled by the mayor, Josele González (PSOE), and the councillor for Festivities, Tamara Vera (PSOE).
"We continue to promote recreational activities during these special dates, in which we want families to enjoy a calendar of events for all tastes. Music will continue to be the main protagonist of the Las Lagunas Christmas Fair with a flamenco zambombá, a performance by the students of the Punto Danza Academy and a meeting of pastoral groups, without forgetting the Royal Postman, who has visited the three centres to collect the letters for the Three Wise Men from our children", explained González.

The Royal Postman began his visit to Mijas on Tuesday on the Plaza Virgen de la Peña in Mijas Pueblo and continued on Wednesday the 28th at the La Butibamba park in La Cala and on Thursday 29th of December at the Christmas grounds in Las Lagunas.
Meanwhile, in Las Lagunas, entertainment continued with a performance by the Punto Danza Academy on Wednesday the 28th of December. The following day, on Thursday 29th, starting at 6.30 p.m., a flamenco zambombá was staged, "with singing, guitar, dancing and percussion", said Vera,  "after successfully celebrating the XXXVII edition of the Contest of Pastorales Villa de Mijas'':  as well as the pastorales from Las Lagunas, Vecinos del Camorro, Virgen de la Paz and Los Santiago, at the Christmas Fairground''.
