The pharmacists of Linares (Jaen), through the CLC World Foundation, have sent a batch of medicines to collaborate with the Ukraine project in Mijas. In total, they have donated more than 200 kilograms of medicines and medical material to send to the refugees. According to Hernán Lara, ambassador of the CLC World Foundation, "we are always willing to collaborate. We have obtained medical supplies. This has been a very special donation from the pharmacists of Linares, in Jaen, and from one of the parishes in that city that has been collecting it. We have managed to collect more than 200 kilograms".
Mijas Town Hall would like to thank all the private companies, and groups that have already made contributions. According to the Councillor for Employment Promotion, Laura Moreno (PSOE), "We are appealing to all those companies that can collaborate by making a contribution, either in food or health material, as CLC has done. We can only thank the Foundation for its commitment to the City Council and the Ukrainian people. We also have to thank other businesses such as San Antón warehouses, Fiesta restaurant, Leroy Merlin, etc... All those companies that normally collaborate with "Fomento del Empleo", Employment Promotion, and that contribute their bit to help".
In Mijas, the three collection points for donations are still active, but it is insisted that "the organisations that are working in the area, prefer small economic donations to deal quicker, and accurately with the area problems". The Town Council is grateful for the massive support from both private and corporate donors for this cause. The Head of Citizen Participation, Tamara Vera (PSOE), says that "since we became aware and in collaboration with the Ukrainian community living in Mijas, we decided to install three points in the municipality, one in each centre, so that residents and businesses could make the appropriate contributions".
The Town Hall is also fully collaborating with the Ukrainian families in the municipality to coordinate the deliveries, while the "Renta Básica" workers' are collaborating on the packaging tasks, and organising the donated material.
