The Danish Club of Mijas starts a new collaboration with the New Culture Development Association. The collective is preparing 180 bags of food for the neediest families, 80 Mijas families with few resources. A group of volunteers from this club meets, once a month, at its headquarters to prepare them. According to Jens Gylling, the volunteers' team organiser, "here, at the Danish Club we are a small group who have been making sandwiches for the poorest in Malaga since 2007. Since January, we have started to do the same for Mijas so we can expand a bit".
On this occasion, this month's donation goes to the New Culture Development Association, a group with which they already collaborated at Christmas, with 100 new toys. Its secretary, Rosa Planilles, stated that "the Danish Club got in touch with us, as soon as they heard about us, first to help with the 'No child without a smile' programme during the Christmas campaign, and later to see what other needs we had. Now, every first Wednesday of the month, they also offer us their help through sandwiches donations, which the association volunteers' prepare. We collect them and distribute them among the neediest families in our association, a total of 80".
The initiative has been carried out by 20 club members since 2017. Until now, the donation was made to Malaga collectives such as Ángeles Malagueños de la Noche, but from this month, they will also donate to underprivileged families in Mijas.

The Mijas Foreigners Department wants to support and thank these groups for their involvement in social work, helping Mijas families with few resources. The Councillor for the Area, Arancha López (Cs), "we value the importance of these groups who carry out these social tasks and who coordinate so well, and in particular, the Mijas Danish Club".
The New Culture Development Association pays a visit to the club to thank them for their Christmas campaign participation in collecting toys. Also, they were granted the title "Christmas Godfather 2021". They are asking for new members and collaborators to continue growing and helping.
