The ‘Mijas Impulsa’ Employment Programme, financed with European funds in collaboration with the Mijas Local Council, opens in September with the launch of three new courses aimed at unemployed persons in the municipality, whether or not they have prior training. These three new training courses have a duration of between 500 and 550 hours, include an internship period and will be taught from October 2021 to March 2022.
For the first of these, Social and Health Care in Institutions, Compulsory Secondary Education is needed (ESO). “It is a course that tends to have good job placement, also taking into account that the Mijas City Council maintains a contract with a company that offers this service and that, in addition, we have the collaboration of a residence established in our municipality for the subsequent development of the practice periods”, explained the councillor for Employment Promotion, Laura Moreno (PSOE).
The second course, Data recording and processing operations, lasts 470 theoretical hours and 80 practical hours. For it, Moreno stressed, no prior training is necessary. “It is a subject totally on the rise, since the vast majority of companies are obliged to digitize the data they manage in their day-to-day, also reducing paper consumption”, said the councillor.
The last course, lasting 510 hours, 80 of them practical, is that of Warehouse Management and Logistics Technician, for which a Baccalaureate degree is required.
“We think that it is an issue on which there is not much specific training and it is something that the productive and economic fabric of our municipality has demanded of us, hence we have decided to promote it”, added the councillor, who also recalled that “these three training courses provide a certificate of professionalism, valid for the whole of Europe”.
Registration for the first two courses will be from September 10th to 23rd, while the term for the Warehouse Management and Logistics Technician course will remain open from September 20th to October 1st.
Those interested should download the application at www.fomentoempleomijas.com and submit it through the Electronic Headquarters of the Mijas City Council, at the Employment Promotion building by prior appointment or through the municipal registry.
“Applicants can go by appointment to the Employment Promotion building, be informed first-hand and speak with specialized technicians, who will be in charge of adjusting the most appropriate course for each of the profiles that arrive at our offices”, said Moreno.
For each course, 15 places will be offered.
