A homage to the silent generation

Last Thursday, July 15th, the Town Hall in Mijas, through the Council for Culture, inaugurated the exhibition-tribute to the silent generation, that generation from the 30s onwards that experienced the consequences of the post-war period and that today are suffering the worst consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic. For this reason, the Town Hall has wanted to pay tribute to them with 20 panels with statements by people who lived through those hard years. The event was attended by members of the municipal corporation and the opposition, as well as several groups such as Civil Protection or the Red Cross and the artist based in Mijas Michèle Lehmann, whose iron sculpture in homage to these people is anchored in the gardens of La Muralla, where we can now visit this outdoor exhibition. We will provide more information in the next edition of Mijas Weekly.
