The La Cala Cultural Centre is inaugurating a new art exhibition by Karyna Kiraro on Friday 9th. The Ukrainian artist, currently based in Spain, presents a series of paintings created within abstract surrealism, where colours, shapes and figures take on different meanings depending on each visitor’s perspective.

- La exposición permanecerá abierta al público hasta el 9 de noviembre.

The new collection draws on the artist’s personal experience and explores the relationship between trauma and memory. Through bodies and symbolic elements, Kiraro depicts the marks that certain experiences can leave on identity and self-perception.
The councillor for Culture at Mijas Town Hall, Juan Carlos Maldonado (PMP), highlighted on Tuesday the department's commitment to offering spaces to creators. “From the Culture Department, we want to give opportunities to our artists, in this case Karina, a Ukrainian woman who lives here and who has also seen an opportunity here in La Cala to present her work”.

The exhibition thus invites visitors to engage with memory and personal experiences from an artistic perspective, allowing each viewer to find their own interpretation in the artwork.
The opening will take place on Friday, 9th October, at 20:00. The exhibition brings together twelve paintings, four on stretched canvas and eight on sill, and will remain open to the public until 9th November.
