Although working, the team at Mijas Comunicación also thoroughly enjoyed this fair, the third and final one of the year in the municipality. Our contribution to the Mijas festivities amounts to almost 22 hours of live coverage, in addition to recordings made during the parade, the daytime fair and the marching band parade, among other events.
Once again this year, Mijas Comunicación made a major technical and human deployment to bring the Mijas Fair to all local residents and anyone wishing to follow the municipality’s big week from anywhere in the world. From Monday 7th to Saturday 12th, we were delighted to bring you a range of special programmes, notably on the feast day of the patron saint, the Virgen de la Peña, on Tuesday 8th, when we covered both the solemn morning Mass and the extensive evening procession through the town’s streets.
The Fair King and Queen Pageant across all its categories, the concerts at the municipal booth and the traditional tribute dinner for the elderly also featured prominently in our programming, not forgetting all those who dropped by our set throughout the week to share their experiences of the Mijas festivities, including mayoress Ana Mata herself, the festival’s herald, and the AFA Mijas association.
It has been six intense days of filming, countless photographs and plenty of Reels which, remember, remain available on our website mijascomunicacion.com, on our social media channels and, of course, this Friday in the newspaper Mijas Semanal. We won’t deny that it’s been a week of hard work and exhaustion for many colleagues, but we are left with the great times spent with locals and visitors, the laughter, the toasts, and the odd emotional moment. See you next year!
