The UP will surprise us again in December with its Christmas programme. Once again, it presents a gala full of surprises where students and teachers from different workshops will stage their own Christmas story:  ‘El día en que se perdió la Navidad. ¿Quién nos ayudará a recuperarla?’ (The day Christmas was lost. Who will help us get it back?).

Christmas is just around the corner and the UP is already preparing its traditional gala for the festive season. Once again, it will be full of surprises, intrigue, mystery, an evil Grinch who wants to ruin Christmas, and angels who will arrive to save the best time of the year.

According to the councillor responsible for this area, Silvia Marín (PP), "we invite all residents to this very special Christmas story. We have organised a very special performance, together with all the teachers at the UP. It is the typical story for this time of year, featuring an evil character, the Grinch, who wants to ruin everything, and several guardian angels who will restore our enthusiasm and excitement for this festive season".

The event will take place on the 11th of December at the Manuel España Theatre in Las Lagunas, starting at 17:30 hours. As always, admission is free until full capacity is reached, and all residents are invited.

For her part, one of the teachers, Gloria Marín, highlighted "the great collaboration between all the workshops and the joint proposal that we want to make from the UP to contribute to the spirit of the festive season".

Taking advantage of this time of year, the teachers have come together to create a new Christmas story, with the collaboration of many workshops that are not usually as visible in shows or galas, such as language, computer science, and painting, alongside the traditional dance, music, and theatre workshops.

Joint work

According to Marín, "this is our proposal to keep the Christmas spirit alive. All the teachers have contributed their ideas and suggestions. Francisco Valcárcel, José Antonio Sánchez, Carlos Haro, Gloria Marín, Natalia Gómez, Ismael González and, in dance, Feli Gabriel, María José Bueno, María Jesús Sánchez, Juan Jesús Leiva and a few others will be taking part in the play". Who will help them recover the lost Christmas?
