As it does every year at this time, St. Anthony's College organised its traditional Christmas market on Saturday 22nd. This event, which attracts more and more people every year, has everything you could wish for and is open to anyone who wants to attend. "It's a little extra time we spend together as a community, and we invite anyone who wants to come. We call on people who want to offer something and set up a stall of any kind, selling crafts, food, drinks... everything, there's even pony rides. It's about spending a day together and the proceeds go to our community", said one of the school's teachers, Guillermo Ordóñez.

For the entire educational community at St. Anthony's School, this is a highly anticipated event that officially kicks off the Christmas season. The children are the real stars here, and as always, the little ones from the nursery and primary school took to the stage in the auditorium to perform traditional English carols in front of all the attendees at the start of the party.

Christmas bazaar
"I come to this market because I really like the atmosphere created by the English, and as I worked here years ago and know what the atmosphere is like, I like to come and set up a little stall. In addition to my crafts, I bring a variety of sweet wine, cheesecake, brownies and, of course, our traditional sweet potato pastries, aniseed doughnuts and cider pastries," said one of the artisan stallholders, Inmaculada Jiménez, who has participated in the event on several occasions.

- Había puestos de todo tipo, de manualidades, comida, bebida… y hasta paseos en pony.

A day of togetherness
The stalls were run by artisans, but also by parents and even students raising funds for their graduations and end-of-year trips. There were stalls of all kinds, pony rides for the children and even an early visit from Father Christmas, which delighted the little ones. All in all, it was a day of togetherness to enjoy with family and friends.

"My children have been at this school for several years, they are very happy here and we have come to support the event. I think this is the third time we have come, it is always very nice to come with family and friends", said Gregor Wojciechowski, a father who is a regular at the event.

Games were also organised for the children and, to round off the day, there was a big raffle with prizes donated mostly by the parents of the school. In short, it was a day of togetherness to celebrate the fact that Christmas is just around the corner.
