The Plaza del Torreón is the chosen venue to host the proclamation of the La Cala Fair on Friday 11th of July. A magical evening that will begin at 21 hours and mark the start of the celebrations. At the iconic Torreón, the councillor for Festivities, Silvia Marín (PP), welcomed us on Thursday 3rd to "invite the people of Mijas, and especially those from La Cala, to the proclamation that will take place here on the 11th".

According to Marín, the opening speech promises several performances and even a few surprises. One of them is the identity of this year’s town crier, which will be revealed that same evening. "We will not only have the 2024 town crier, Dolores Arroyo Jaime, who will be handing over the baton, but we will also have musical performances by Erika Leiva and Víctor Rojas, and we will also enjoy the speech by the 2025 town crier, whose identity will be revealed on the day", explained the councillor.

An event which, as Marín pointed out, the Mijas Town Hall’s Department for Festivities and Traditions has sought to enhance “with musical performances for residents and visitors to enjoy”. A splendid moon will accompany us that evening, during what is “set to be a beautiful event where we will discover the full programme and the performances that will make up the 2025 La Cala Fair”, she concluded.
