The El Charcón beach is once again open to the public. The repair works on the pipeline that broke on May 16th have now been completed. The damage affected around 50 linear metres of piping and forced the red flag prohibiting bathing to be raised. Last Wednesday, the Health Department was informed that there were no longer any leaks in the area and, after this was confirmed on Thursday, all machinery and signage were removed on Friday 30th of May, and the beach was reopened to the public, as announced by the councillor for Beaches, Daniel Gómez Teruel (PP).
"In record time, and thanks also to the favourable sea conditions, we were able to deal with a leak that was occurring at El Charcón beach. It was not a major leak, but as soon as it was detected, we got to work and were able to complete the repairs in a week", explained the councillor for beaches, who wanted to thank the workers for their involvement in the work: "I would like to thank the company that carried out the work for their professionalism, as well as the Acosol technicians, who have been very attentive, and the municipal technicians, who have also been on site. We have been able to provide a great service and it is now open to the public for everyone to enjoy".
The Town Hall also guaranteed the safety of bathers, as the necessary checks have been carried out to ensure that all parameters are correct: "Several water analyses have been carried out and the results are perfect", concluded the councillor.
