The Basic Income socio-occupational insertion programme has begun the recruitment of 140 people. In this first call of 2025 a total of 699 applications have been registered, of which 496 have been admitted. The hiring will be carried out in two phases: 70 incorporations, which were already carried out last Monday 7th, and another 70, which will be carried out on the 21st.
According to the managing director of the municipal company in charge of this programme, Mijas Complementary Services (MSC), Juan Carlos Cuevas Dawson (Vox), these incorporations coincide with the start of the high season in the municipality. “With them we reinforce the beach services before Holy Week arrives, in addition to the work of clearing brush, garden maintenance, cleaning of municipal buildings and street cleaning”, he explained.
Occupational risk prevention
Cuevas also stressed that the first day of incorporation is dedicated to compulsory training in Occupational Risk Prevention, which is given at the Employment and Development headquarters. “It is essential that all workers start with adequate preparation to ensure their safety and the proper performance of their duties”, he added.
The councillor also valued the social impact of the programme, which offers job opportunities to those who need them most. ‘’Basic Income plays an essential role as a means of access to employment for many of our neighbours. We will continue to promote this tool as an instrument for social and labour integration with direct benefits for the whole municipality”, concluded the deputy mayor of the Town Hall.
