The Idiliq Foundation once again brings a smile to the faces of the users of Adimi, the Association for People with Intellectual Disabilities of Mijas Virgen de la Peña. This year, the traditional breakfast and games day, which is approaching its first decade of history, was held on two consecutive days at the Waves children's club at the Wyndham Costa del Sol resort.
The event, which took place on the 7th and 8th of April, was packed with activities designed to provide a different and special day out for the participants. The 45 users, divided into two groups, enjoyed a breakfast accompanied by games, crafts, karaoke and many more surprises.
The president of the Idiliq Foundation, Juan Miguel Marcos, said that "it is a long-awaited visit for them and for us. I think we had a better time than they did seeing how happy they are".

Adimi's occupational workshop caregiver, Cristian López, who also participated in the event, highlighted the positive impact of these activities: "The kids really enjoy it. It's a way out of their routine that enriches them. Getting out of the centre and socialising with new people is necessary and essential for human beings".
In addition, López stressed the importance of preparing these outings in advance, which makes it easier for the users to adapt, as "although some need strict routines, most adapt very well. We work with them so that they know where they are going and what activities they will be doing".
With nearly ten years of history, this initiative is much more than an annual activity. It is an opportunity to strengthen the ties between the participants and the Idiliq Foundation's team of volunteers. Moments such as karaoke and laughter during the group dynamics leave unforgettable memories, both for Adimi users and for all those involved in the event.
