The Brotherhood of Jesús Vivo, Virgen de la Paz and Virgen de la Piedad is organising the I Encuentro de Pastorales Virgen de la Paz. The event will take place this Saturday, 7th of December, in the square. "From 12:00 hours our parish priest, Manuel Jiménez, will bless the nativity scene, we have done it among the members of the brotherhood and neighbours, we started after the summer and now it is ready with all the details" explained the elder brother, Bosco Rivas, on Wednesday 4th during the presentation of the event. "We will also have a performance by the artist India de Molina, who will present her latest work, and a talk on 'pastorales' by Keke Núñez, from the Pastoral Santiago", added Rivas.

The meeting will be enlivened musically by the 'pastorales' Mijas: Las Lagunas, Virgen de la Paz, Las Rozas, Amigos de Camorro and Santiago, as well as the choirs Unión del Cante and C.R. Canta Marbella. But these will not be the only attractions, as there will be a bar with food and drink, as well as a professional ham cutter and a venenciadora (expert wine pourer), all, according to the organisers, "at very affordable prices", as well as raffles with gifts provided by local companies, "many local companies have participated by contributing what they could and with this raffle we will help Adam, who as we all know is a little neighbour from Las Lagunas who suffers from a rare dissease", said the elder brother of Las Lagunas.

The event has the support of the Cultural Department of the Mijas Town Hall, "we invite all the people from Las Lagunas, all the people from Mijas to come. It's going to be a great day, we are going to have a great time, with our music, so traditional during Christmas and for all audiences. We will continue to support from Culture all these initiatives because they help us to revitalize trade and life in the neighborhoods", said the councillor responsible for the area, Juan Carlos Maldonado (PMP), during the presentation.
