The Mijas Town Hall supports this initiative, which aims to raise funds for Adán's family, a little boy from Mijas who suffers from a rare disease

The extreme athlete David Segorbe will get back on his bike to cycle for 24 hours non-stop for a good cause, "to collaborate with the research for the treatment of Adán, a little boy from Mijas who unfortunately has a rare disease of which there are only two cases in the world. This is why I decided to take action and do something that could raise awareness of his case and, on the other hand, have an impact on the funds that the family has to pay personally to meet the costs of this research", Segorbe explained on Wednesday during the presentation of the event.

The Mijas Town Hall has shown its support for Segorbe. The mayoress, Ana Mata (PP), who accompanied the athlete on Wednesday morning, stressed that "initiatives like this one encourage everyone to get involved in something as necessary as research into rare diseases".

24 hours pedalling

The challenge will start at 12:00 noon on Friday 20th of December and will end on Saturday 21st at the same time. It will take place in the Ciudad Deportiva in Las Lagunas, many exercise bikes will be available so that those who want to collaborate with this initiative can do so and help Segorbe to achieve the challenge. "I encourage the people of Mijas to join me, they can come and pedal for an hour, 10 or 24 hours with me", said the athlete, who also stressed that “there will be a platform where all those who want to make a donation can do so, and the family will set up a stand where they will inform about the case of Adam and for those who want to make a donation”.

"I challenge all Mijeños to sign up for this solidarity initiative which, without a doubt, is very good for our health", concluded the mayoress of Mijas.
