Playas says that, following the weekend's work, several sections of the path that were affected have been opened to traffic.
"This weekend, six machines have been working, one mixed, two minis, two sweeping trucks, which have been carrying out the cleaning work, plus a tractor and a team of 25 people, who have been working tirelessly to try to make part of our coastal path passable today," said the Councillor of Beaches, José Carlos Martín (Cs), who noted that the storm has also caused other damage to the foundations of some points of the path. "It will have to be a more extensive action over time, as those sections of the path that have been affected in their foundations need a larger-scale action because the whole path has to be dismantled and re-founded," said Martín.
The beach furniture has also been affected, added the Councillor: "Everything that was on the beach has been affected, the toilets, showers, areas for people with reduced mobility, sunbeds and walkways". Today, the action plan consisted of eight machines and 60 people, including staff from Renta Básica.
