Aristochat organised a charity dinner to raise funds to finance the maintenance of their facilities, as well as the services they offer to the feline community, such as spaying/neutering and the daily feeding of these animals on the street. Fortunately, groups like this one are once again able to organise face-to-face events. This feline association took advantage of last Friday evening to organise a charity dinner, for which it had the collaboration of the Asador Otola (on the way to Coín). "This event aims to look for more donations because this year has been an atrocious year, with a lot of young cats abandoned in the street, all-loving and friendly... but not neutered. It's catastrophic," said Chantal Lancelot, President of Aristochat, during the evening.
This collective is having a lot of work this year because of the large number of abandonments. In addition to keeping the abandoned animals in their facilities, they also support the localised colonies, which means that the number of animals they care for is increasing all the time. It is therefore urgently necessary to hold this type of fund-raising event again.
As has become a tradition, the association has also published its solidarity calendar, in which we can see nice and original photographs of some of the animals in foster care. These, as well as the Christmas lottery, can be purchased at Aristochat's facilities located near the Cerros del Águila road. The cat association continues to ask for help from volunteers and anonymous donations to be able to offer its services.
Last Friday's dinner was attended by a large group of people, including municipal representatives such as councillors Nicolás Cruz (PSOE) and Roy Pérez (PSOE), to show their support for this group. According to Cruz, "we participated as a show of support from the government team for the Aristochat association, for the good work they do throughout the year. This year, we will have to intensify the colony control campaigns because they have grown a lot, as we have been informed".
Aristochat is already organising an open day for November 28th, with food and a charity Christmas market.
