The councillor for Public Roads, Melisa Ceballos (PP), has announced that La Cala de Mijas will host a pirate-themed market from the 13th to the 15th of June. It will be organised in the boulevard car park and will feature themed stalls, performances and workshops.
As explained by the councillor, the entire area will be decorated with pirate and nautical motifs to give the place a fantasy atmosphere. There will be craft and food stalls, as well as various children's workshops, including twenty free traditional games.
In total, there will be five parades and a theatre performance with the finalists of the 2022 Max Awards, Sergio Rey and Irene Gutiérrez, as well as various “pirate” activities aimed at encouraging creativity among children and adults. One of the most eagerly awaited moments will take place on Saturday evening, when a fire show will round off the day.
"From the Mijas Town Hall, we aim to revitalise our municipality, so activities like this one are perfect for that. We have already held other themed markets that have been a success, and I am convinced that this one will be too. I encourage everyone to come along and enjoy this unique experience", said Ceballos.
On Friday 13th of June, the market will be open from 18 to 21:30 hours, while on Saturday 14th it will be open from 11 to 22 hours and on Sunday 15th from 11 to 20:30 hours.
