Coinciding with the arrival of hot weather, a small fire broke out on Saturday night in two separate spots within the El Lagarejo residential area, affecting an area of scrubland with very dry vegetation. The Mijas Fire Department responded with two fire engines and had the flames extinguished by around 2 a.m. on Sunday morning. Once again, the Mijas Fire Department  are urging everyone to exercise extreme caution, especially now that we have entered the high fire risk period.
