Companies from the hotel sector, travel agencies, tour operators, transport services, catering and other key players in the tourism and services chain attended the birth of Nexo, a municipal initiative that aims to bring the Mijas Town Hall and entrepreneurs together in order to boost the local economy and employment. This was highlighted by the mayoress of Mijas, Ana Mata (PP), who opened the presentation ceremony. “I believe this is a good initiative to contribute to the direction we all want for Mijas”, she remarked. For his part, the councillor for Economic Development, Juan Carlos Maldonado (PMP), stressed that “this municipal programme, like Puente al Comercio, aims to humanise the administration, to make ourselves available to entrepreneurs to address issues that are essential, such as the generation of wealth and investment in the municipality, but also employment, and in this, the entrepreneurs, who are the real agents that drive the labour market, are essential”.
Objectives
Nexo aims to bring together entrepreneurs on a regular basis, creating a space to share experiences, exchange knowledge, and explore new business opportunities in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Attending professionals have seen this programme as a good tool to boost skills and job opportunities. According to executive coach Bruno Dragui, “think this is a very good proposal. I believe it’s a very important union because we discussed great topics, like how the Town Hall has a lot of tools that the business sector doesn’t know about, and how the business sector sometimes has issues they don’t know how to communicate to the Town Hall. So, I think it’s a meeting point, a balance, and a union where we can align and improve”.
