From 25th to 27th September, the boulevard in La Cala de Mijas will host the ninth and final event of the season for the regional ‘Sabor a Málaga’ fair. On this occasion, 36 producers, wineries and cooperatives from 20 municipalities in Málaga, including Mijas, will be taking part, giving locals and visitors the chance to sample and purchase more than 350 products bearing the authentic 100% Málaga label.
This was announced on Wednesday 23rd by the mayoress of Mijas, Ana Mata (PP), and the director of Sabor a Málaga, Leonor García-Agua, during the event’s presentation. The mayoress highlighted the municipality’s leading role in the province’s agri-food production sector, owing both to its coastal and inland terrain and to its exceptional location and potential for tourism.
“Mijas is the perfect showcase for highlighting the quality and exceptional nature of our province’s locally sourced produce. Just like last year, I am convinced that this edition of Sabor a Málaga will be a resounding success”, said the mayoress, recalling that, in 2025, “this event held in Mijas generated a turnover of 120,000 euros”.

For her part, García-Agua noted that over the course of three days, “as well as being able to purchase the artisanal products made by our producers, visitors will be able to enjoy a varied programme featuring more than fifteen activities for the whole family”. Highlights of the programme include wine and cheese tastings, cocktail-making workshops, gourmet sandwiches, a masterclass led by chef Juan Carmona, as well as children’s activities, music and dance.
This event combines the promotion of local produce, the celebration of Málaga’s gastronomic culture and family leisure as an essential strategy for economic recovery and job creation in key sectors for our province, such as the agri-food and hospitality industries.
Fifth year in Mijas
This marks the fifth year that ‘Sabor a Málaga’ has come to Mijas, bringing the 2026 season’s programme of regional fairs to a close in the municipality, having previously visited the municipalities of Torremolinos, Vélez-Málaga, Benalmádena, Torrox, Nerja, Ronda, Antequera and Rincón de la Victoria, where it enjoyed great success in terms of attendance and visitor numbers.
During this final stop in Mijas, locals and visitors will be able to purchase and sample a varied selection of the region’s most iconic products, such as extra virgin olive oils, wines with the ‘Málaga’ and ‘Sierras de Málaga’ PDOs, Malaga goat’s cheese, traditional cured meats and Iberian products, as well as olives and pickles, artisan breads and sweets, gluten-free baked goods, jams and marmalades, coffees from local roasters, chocolates, honeys, ice cream, subtropical fruits, craft beers, liqueurs and natural cosmetics made from citrus fruits from the Guadalhorce Valley.
A bountiful larder that showcases the qualities and flavours of locally sourced produce, specifically from some twenty municipalities such as Alhaurín el Grande, Almargen, Antequera, Ardales, Arriate, Benamargosa, Coín, Colmenar, Faraján, Málaga, Mijas, Mollina, Periana, Pizarra, Rincón de la Victoria, Riogordo, Ronda, Teba, Vélez-Málaga and Villanueva del Trabuco.
