The 'Mancomunidad de Municipios de la Costa del Sol Occidental' (Association of Municipalities of the Western Costa del Sol) has announced the new opening hours for the La Cala Recycling Centre following the end of the summer schedule. The facility will remain open Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 14:00 and Saturdays from 15:00 to 17:00.

The waste collection centre is located in Camino de la Majadilla del Muerto, next to the La Cala wastewater treatment plant. Residents can drop off small quantities of rubble, electrical appliances, furniture, household items, garden waste, clothing and scrap metal free of charge.

The Recycling Centre also accepts hazardous household waste, such as batteries, fluorescent tubes, waste oils, ink cartridges, paints and solvents.
