Soroptimist International Costa del Sol invites us to join them “in building a more sustainable future”. With this aim in mind, the NGO launched the Soroptimist ‘Nurture Your Optimism’ Award, which celebrates its fifth edition in 2026. It is a competition in which members of the public can nominate organisations or businesses in the province of Málaga. “We are looking for organisations and businesses in the province of Málaga that are transforming our local food system: from food production and distribution, to education, innovation, food preparation and sustainable catering”, explain the organisers.

The initiative is supported by the Aula del Mar Mediterráneo Foundation, Justicia Alimentaria, the Málaga Red Cross, Sabor a Málaga, Costa Women, the Foreigners Department and the Mijas Town Hall. The event is sponsored by HM Hospitales.

The nomination period is now open and closes on 15th October. Soroptimist International encourages people to put forward nominations , that is, local organisations or businesses that “inspire us to look after the planet”, the NGO emphasises. Nominations must be submitted via this form.
