This weekend is packed with activities to suit all tastes and interests. And this is no ordinary week for Mijas: the Mijas Pueblo Fair and Festivities continue until 12th September, with two days full of events to enjoy with family, friends or simply to unwind.
Mijas Fair 2026
The Mijas Fair continues this Friday, 11th September, with a day of events starting at 14:00 at La Muralla, where the traditional Day Fair will take place. Music will be provided by DJ Vicente 80, the A-Compás party band and the group Malamanera. The little ones will also have their own space with the children's play area, which will be open from 16:00 to 20:00. In addition, traditional ‘buñuelos’ with hot chocolate will be served at 17:00.
In the evening, from 21:00, the Municipal Booth will host the Senior Citizens' Tribute Dinner, during which the Fair’s 'Grandfather and Grandmother' will be honoured. The evening will continue with performances by the ballroom dance groups from the UP and, at 23:30, a performance by Marta Quintero. The night will carry on until the early hours with another set by DJ Vicente 80 at 01:00.
Fair Day on Saturday
Saturday 12th September, the final day of the fair, will also be packed with activities for those wishing to bring the festivities to a spectacular close. At 11:00, the traditional bike ride will take place, while from 14:00 onwards, the Day Fair returns to La Muralla. The music line-up will feature DJ Vicente 80, the group Maníacos and Los Fabrizzio. Children will also be able to enjoy inflatables from 16:00 to 20:00. Tradition will also take centre stage with the ‘encierro de toritos’ (running from inflatable bulls), scheduled for 18:00, starting from Cañada de Gertrudis. An hour later, at 19:00, the traditional horse parade will take place, winding its way through various streets in the village before ending in the square by the Church of the Inmaculada Concepción
In the evening, from 23:00, the Municipal Booth will host a huge party featuring DJ Teteo, DJ Michael Stiven, DJ Cohelo and Alba Dreid. Admission is free until full capacity is reached.
Art and music
But it won’t all be about the fair. For those who want to mix visiting the booths and enjoying the music with other kinds of activities, the municipality is also offering sporting, cultural, musical and comedy events this weekend.
Friday will see the start of the 5th Charity Padel Tournament, to be held at Club Cerrado del Águila from 11th to 13th September. The tournament will feature prizes and raffles, with the main aim of raising funds for a charitable cause. On the same day, at 20:00, the opening of Olga Kuba’s exhibition will take place at the La Cala Cultural Centre. The exhibition will remain open until 5th October. Music will also take centre stage with a concert by the ZUŠ Chválenická-Pilsen Grand Wind and Accordion Orchestra from the Czech Republic, which will perform at 20:00 in Costa del Sol Park, La Butibamba. Admission is free.
On Saturday, there will be time for dancing and music with ‘Dance for Freedom’ and live music from Iran and around the world, an event taking place at 18:00 in the square opposite the Town Hall branch in La Cala. The event will feature Mami Curl and Iranian singers Katty & Gira. Admission is also free.
Luis Piedrahita
Sunday will be a day to enjoy local produce at the Organic Market, which will be set up on La Cala Boulevard, opposite the Town Hall branch, from 09:00 to 13:30. And to round off the weekend, it’ll be time for some comedy. The Manuel España Theatre in Las Lagunas will host Luis Piedrahita’s show ‘Apocalípticamente correcto’ at 18:00. Tickets are available via lacocheraentradas.com and can also be purchased at the box office from one hour before the performance begins.
