On Friday 4th September, the Mijas Town Hall published the final list of accepted applications to take part in the 2026 Senior Citizens' Trip. This initiative, run by the Senior Citizens' Department, will take the municipality’s retirees and pensioners to the Cádiz coast this year.
In total, 2,165 applications were submitted, of which 1,912 have been accepted. As this figure exceeds the 1,600 available places, a public draw will be held to determine who will ultimately get to enjoy the trip.
Draw
The draw will take place next Friday, 11th September, at 10:00, in the Plenary Hall of Mijas Town Hall. Admission is free until capacity is reached.
Under the rules governing leisure trips organised by the Senior Citizens’ Department, a five-digit number corresponding to the application reference number will be drawn. Starting from that number, places will be allocated in ascending order until all 1,600 spaces are filled.
The trip will take place in October across four groups between the 12th and 24th. The itinerary includes visits to various tourist spots in the province of Cádiz, including Chipiona and Jerez, as well as time to enjoy the coastline.
Those interested can consult the final list of admitted applicants on the noticeboard at Mijas Town Hall.
