Summer is all about parties, friends, the beach and board games too. Last Friday, 17th of July, Plaza del Torreón in La Cala hosted Bingo Summer Night, an event organised by the La Cala de Mijas Youth Association which brought together dozens of locals and visitors for a lovely summer’s evening with live music. The evening was packed with surprises, gifts and an atmosphere characterised by togetherness and fun.

The La Cala de Mijas Youth Association is an organisation committed to encouraging youth participation and dynamism through leisure initiatives, socio-cultural excursions, sporting activities and other social projects aimed at fostering young people’s involvement in the life of the municipality.

On this occasion, families, children and, in particular, young people took part in an event that stood out for its welcoming and festive atmosphere. Furthermore, those attending had the chance to win numerous prizes, including charcuterie boxes, beach hampers, board games and many other surprises to enjoy over the summer.

 

The success of this initiative was already evident in its first edition, held last year. For this reason, the association’s president, Paula Moreno, was keen not to miss the opportunity to repeat the experience: “The previous bingo event was such a success that we wanted to do it again”, she said, emphasising that the event also had a fundraising aim: “to raise funds for the bar at La Cala day fair”, which is taking place this week. 

Moreno revealed that the La Cala de Mijas Youth Association’s programme will continue throughout the summer with activities such as Youth Week, which will take place from the 24th to the 30th of August, and will conclude with a big farewell party “which will also include another bingo session”, the president noted.
