The beat, the rhythm and elegance embrace in a new cultural event. The courtyard of the Manuel España Theatre in Las Lagunas will host ‘Popular Dance: Tango and Other Rhythms’ on Saturday 18th of July from 20:30 to 23:30.
The event stems from an initiative by the Mijas Tango and Dance Association, a proposal taken up by the Department of Culture. The councillor responsible for the area, Juan Carlos Maldonado (PMP), stated that “we rely on cultural associations to offer a very diverse programme that appeals to everyone. The Department of Culture tries to meet residents’ needs, despite the sheer volume of proposals we receive”.

During this open-air dance showcase, the public can come along, take part and enjoy the experience alongside tango enthusiasts, with the chance to give free rein to body expression through ‘ochos’ and ‘boleos’. Admission is free and no prior registration is required.
