Valtocado
From Friday 10th to Sunday 12th, Valtocado is celebrating its community get-together in honour of Nuestra Señora de la Inmaculada Concepción. On the first day, the celebrations will begin at 21:00 with a performance by the UP dance group led by Remedios Fernández; at 21:55, the Progress dance group will perform, and at 22:00 it will be the turn of the magician Magic Mota. The final performance of the evening will be at 23:00 by Katrina.
On Saturday at 14:00 there will be a traditional sardine skewers; at 21:00, Gold Dance will perform; an hour later there will be a performing arts showcase; and to round off the evening, at 23:00, Meraki will take to the stage. On Sunday 12th, the final day of the events, at 12 noon, the Virgin will be carried from the chapel to the venue, where a mass will be celebrated, accompanied by the Unión del Cante choir, and followed by a paella.

Weekend
The weekend’s programme kicks off on Friday at 19:30 with the opening of the ‘Miró’ exhibition at the CAC Mijas, organised by the Remedios Medina Foundation. At 20:00, the Villa de Mijas Choir will give a concert at the Casa Museo; admission is free until full capacity is reached.
Saturday is packed with events in Mijas. Firstly, ACE Shin is organising a charity dinner at the Miraflores Golf Restaurant at 19:00, for further information and booking call 711 039 124 (Martyn), or 647 647 671 (Carolyn), or email info@ace-charity.org. At the same time, the Manuel España Theatre is hosting the Surdígenas end-of-term gala. From 18:00 to 23:00, La Cala Resort is organising a market featuring Mijas crafts, fashion, design, wellness and conscious lifestyle. Finally, Flamenco Soy will perform at the Peña Flamenca del Sur from 21:30, featuring Carlos Brías on vocals, Manuel El Yunke on guitar, and Susana Solera and Azahara Alcaine on dance.
On Sunday, there will be an event in each of the municipality's three main centres. In La Cala, as on every second Sunday of the month, the organic market will be held on the Boulevard from 9:00 to 14:00. In Las Lagunas, the Costa del Sol Card Show will take place from 10:00 to 20:00 at the sports centre; tickets can be purchased at ticketing.cat. And in Mijas Pueblo, Im-Pulse is presenting a tribute to Pink Floyd at the municipal auditorium at 22:00; tickets are available at lacocheraentradas.com
