This Sunday, 10th of May, the Peña Flamenca del Sur will host a charity paella in aid of the Cudeca Foundation, an organisation dedicated to providing specialised care and support to people with advanced illnesses and their families.

The event will begin at 14:30 hours at the peña’s headquarters, located in La Cala (Paseo Costa del Sol, no. 1), combining gastronomy and art in a day designed for both enjoyment and supporting a worthy cause. The price for a plate of paella, served with a traditional tomato 'picadillo', will be 9 euros, an affordable contribution that will go entirely towards the foundation’s work.

Line-up

The gathering will feature a stellar flamenco line-up bringing together leading figures from the current scene. Vocals will be provided by Miguel de Tena, José García ‘El Petro’, María Barea, and Iván Chaskío, while guitar accompaniment will be in the hands of Carlos Haro and Javier de Ana María. The dancing will be performed by the Juan Antonio Pérez Flamenco School, Azabache, bringing colour and stage presence to the occasion.

The event will be hosted by the renowned flamenco expert Salvador Pendón, who will guide an afternoon filled with a festive and charitable atmosphere. Additionally, several raffles will be held throughout the event to raise further funds.

With this initiative, the Peña Flamenca del Sur reaffirms its social commitment, using flamenco as a vehicle for unity and solidarity, on a day that promises equal parts emotion, art and generosity. The event is supported by the Mijas Town Hall and the Nacido Para Ayudar association.
