Under the ‘Mójate con Mijas’ campaign, each group requests the items they need most, and tickets can be collected from the associations’ headquarters

On Monday 4th of May, as part of the ‘Mójate con Mijas’ campaign, the Mijas Town Hall, through the Department for Social Inclusion, distributed 4,000 tickets for the AquaMijas water park (donated by the company) to be allocated to social entities within the municipality. In total, more than ten groups in Mijas will benefit, including Nueva Cultura y Desarrollo, AECC, Afesol, AFA Mijas, AFA Mijas Fuengirola, Apaffer, the Red Cross, Avatés, Sembrando Sonrisas, Cudeca, Sostea Autismo and Cáritas.

The councillor for Social Inclusion, Mari Francis Alarcón (PP), expressed her gratitude "once again to AquaMijas for providing all these tickets. We are now distributing them in equal numbers among the associations and social groups in Mijas. This allows them to exchange the tickets for items needed by the organisations or their members”.

The director of AquaMijas, María del Mar Asesio, stated that “our company, AquaMijas, is deeply committed to social causes and the residents of Mijas. Once again, we are here to hand over these free tickets to various associations so they can distribute them as they see fit. In total, we are providing 4,000 tickets to 13 groups”.

The organisations have received batches of tickets for specific dates. Each group will now distribute them in exchange for various products: personal hygiene and cleaning supplies, school materials, or non-perishable goods. Each organisation will handle these requests at its own premises.

Associations

Pepi Moya, president of the Avatés association, stated that “we will be asking for five non-perishable products in exchange for one ticket. These items should be delivered to the association’s kiosk in Pasaje San Valentín, next to the health centre”.

For her part, the president of the Sembrando Sonrisas association, Rosa Planelles, noted that “we will offer one ticket for three personal hygiene and cleaning products. The group will be at the Apaffer kiosk, sharing space with that association to hand out the tickets”.

The Adimi association is also joining the 'Mójate con Mijas' campaign and is requesting various sets of school supplies, including paper, pens, markers, whiteboards and notebooks.

AFA Fuengirola-Mijas Costa will ask for four school supply items per ticket, providing a list that includes glue, erasers, poster paints, notebooks, markers, and paper.

Each group will announce the specific days and times for distribution at their respective headquarters, where further information regarding schedules and the types of products required can be obtained.
