On Saturday 28th of March, the Mijas Danish Club held a grand party to welcome spring and the good weather, preparing one of the country’s traditional dishes for all attendees: roast suckling pig. The event, which brought together numerous members of the Danish community, was marked by a festive and family atmosphere. “We have traditional Danish food, drink, music, and everything necessary for people to enjoy the afternoon, because today the weather is wonderful, neither too hot nor too cold, just like a summer day in Denmark”, said Lasse Andersen, the club’s president.

The Mijas Danish Club has been active here in our town for more than 40 years and is currently taking on new challenges under the leadership of its president, including attracting the younger Danish community. “We are thinking of organising new activities, taking advantage of the fact that we have tennis courts and a swimming pool here at the headquarters, so we are looking for ways to attract Danes of all ages, as it is true that the vast majority are currently retirees”, he stated.
Three artists performed at the party with songs in Danish, English, and Spanish, thus reinforcing the multicultural nature of the gathering.
