Exhibiting at the Tourist Office also offers visitors a glimpse into our local cultural heritage, in this case, craftsmanship. Until the 30th of March, tourists visiting the Mijas Pueblo office in search of information will find added value in the works on display by two local craftswomen.

"It is a public space through which hundreds of people pass in winter, and in summer the numbers are countless. Having this type of exhibition here is very good for them and for us; it is a symbiotic relationship that ultimatley benefits the town of Mijas", explained Francisco Jerez (Vox), councillor for Tourism at the Mijas Town Hall.
On this occasion, Tourism presents an exhibition by María José Calvente, a dressmaker specialising in flamenco attire who has recently honoured on Women's Day for her work. "All the tourists pass through this office, and most of them come over to take a look and pick up our business cards", highlighted Calvente. Alongside her creations, we can also contemplate those of Liana Popa, who specialises in handmade jewellery and leatherwork. "You can find some finished pieces, some tools, and photos of the work process, as the space is small and there isn't room for more, but even so, you can still appreciate the work we do", said Popa.

The exhibition offers a small sample of the work carried out by the Craft Association, of which both are members. Each month, the Tourism Department refreshes these exhibitions.
