This week, Mijas is participating in the ITB Berlin International Tourism Fair, the world’s largest tourism industry event. The municipality is presenting its new tourism campaign to international professionals and operators with the aim of strengthening its position within the European market.
The event, which every year brings together thousands of tourism professionals, tour operators, airlines and destinations from around the world, has established itself as a premier venue for building business contacts and defining international tourism trends.
During these days, Mijas is showcasing its tourism offering and holding meetings with industry professionals to continue consolidating its presence in key source markets, especially Germany, one of the most important for the Costa del Sol.
International showcase
The councillor for Tourism in Mijas, Francisco Jerez (Vox), who is participating in the event’s professional agenda, highlighted the importance of the municipality’s presence at such international forum. “ITB Berlin is one of the great showcases for global tourism and a key opportunity to continue positioning Mijas as a competitive, attractive destination that is open to international visitors”, he explained.
One of the central themes of Mijas’ presence at the fair is the international presentation of the municipality’s new tourism campaign, which seeks to project an image of the destination linked to quality of life, authentic experiences and the diversity of its offerings.

The councillor for Tourism highlighted the strategic importance of the German market for the municipality. “Germany is one of the most loyal markets for the Costa del Sol and for Mijas. Being present in Berlin allows us to continue strengthening that relationship and open up new opportunities for our destination”, he said.
