The mayoress of Mijas, Ana Mata (PP), dedicated the agenda item entitled 'Presidency Matters' to thank all the people of Mijas for their behaviour during the recent Storm Leonardo as it passed through the municipality. “You have behaved responsibly, following the instructions and information you have received through the various media, and for this we are grateful. Once again, we have shown that Mijas comes together when it is necessary to join forces to comply with all these recommendations and that, on the other hand, there is a team of men and women working around the clock in a coordinated manner in case of danger", Mata emphasised.

The mayoress of Mijas also praised the work of the municipal employees involved in repairing the damage caused by the storm and minimising potential risks. This work was coordinated by the Emergency Committee. "Thank you to everyone, from Street Cleaning, Parks and Gardens and Operational Services, to the Fire Brigade, Local Police and Civil Protection. I don’t want to leave anyone out. There have been many people working under the coordination of the Emergency team, and I didn’t want to miss this opportunity to thank them", said the Mata.

Finally, Mata reported that she had offered the support of the Mijas Town Hall and its willingness to help in any way necessary those mayors experiencing difficult situations due to the rains, especially in the municipalities of the Serranía de Ronda. "We have made ourselves available to Andalusia’s Emergency Services for any needs of neighbouring municipalities that are going through difficult times", concluded the mayoress.
