Until Thursday evening, the flags of the Mijas Town Hall, branch offices and public spaces will fly at half-mast as a sign of mourning for the victims of the railway accident that occurred on Sunday in the Cordoba village of Adamuz. The Mijas Town Hall is thus adhering to the declaration of national mourning agreed by the Spanish Government until the 22nd of January at 11:59 p.m. In addition to this show of respect, the local executive has also suspended its institutional presence at the International Tourism Fair in Madrid. "I would like to once again express my deepest condolences to all the families of those who died in this national tragedy and my support for the injured and affected for a speedy recovery", said the mayoress of Mijas, Ana Mata (PP), on Tuesday on her social media accounts, in response to this announcement.
