The Mijas Town Hall, through its Tourism Department, and the Málaga Provincial Council are promoting a new training initiative focused on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) as a tool to improve employability and strengthening the global competitiveness of the municipality as a tourist destination.
Entitled 'Impulsa tu empleabilidad con Inteligencia Artificial' (Boost your employability with Artificial Intelligence), the course will be held on Friday 2rd of January, from 9:00 to 13:15 hours, at the Las Lagunas Employment Promotion building, and is aimed at unemployed individuals, employees and entrepreneurs in the Western Costa del Sol.
Those interested can register at the following link.
Although this edition has a broad focus and is not exclusively centred on tourism, it is worth noting that improving professional training, adapting to technological change and strengthening human capital directly enhances service quality, business innovation and Mijas’ image as a competitive destination.

"Employment and training are fundamental pillars for quality tourism. A municipality with skilled professionals, innovative companies and employees able to use new technologies is stronger and more attractive", explained the councillor for Tourism, Francisco Jerez.
In this regard, Jerez stressed that "embracing artificial intelligence in a practical and accessible way not only improves the job opportunities for our residents, but also raises the overall level of Mijas's economic fabric, which directly benefits visitors’ experiences and the destination’s reputation".
Five thematic blocks and a practical workshop
The course will cover five thematic blocks, including emerging jobs, employment opportunities on the Western Costa del Sol, and the practical use of AI for job searching and professional development. Participants will also explore platforms like LinkedIn as a strategic tool in today’s job market.
The session concludes with a practical workshop, where each participant will design a personal employability strategy. Attendees are advised to bring a tablet or laptop.
The Mijas Town Hall and Málaga Provincial Council encourage all interested parties to register for this free training day, an opportunity to enhance professional skills, adapt to the changing job market, and help strengthen the municipality’s tourism model through employment and training.
