The deadline for interested consultancies to submit bids is February 9th, and the budget amounts to 625,000 euros

The high-resolution healthcare centre (CARP) in Mijas will have an underground car park covering more than 12,000 square metres, according to the specifications published by the Town Hall on the State Procurement Platform to advance the drafting of the construction project.

This underground car park, which will occupy the entire construction plot on a single level, will have a capacity for around 400 vehicles. In addition, a surface parking area on the remaining plot will accommodate another 150 cars.

  • El aparcamiento subterráneo tendrá más de 12.000 metros cuadrados de superficie.

This was announced on Tuesday 14th in a press release by the counicllor for Infrastructure, Juan José Torres Trella (PP), who added that the tender document has also been published in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU). The deadline for submitting bids for interested consultants is the 9th of February and the budget amounts to 625,000 euros.

Torres Trella pointed out that the CARP will offer cardiology, pulmonology, paediatrics, gynaecology, ophthalmology, dermatology, speech therapy, major outpatient surgery and minor outpatient surgery, as well as midwives and a 24-hour emergency service every day. "This health centre can cover 85% of the municipality's healthcare needs", he said.

Climatological and hydrological study of the area

The project is located on the plot known as 'Parque de Las Lagunas II', surrounded by Avenida Comares and Calle Algatocín, Calle Benajarafe and Calle Antonio García Moreno. The construction project must include a climatological and hydrological study of the area.

In addition to all construction and road works, it must also include landscaping, paving, the provision of public services and the equipment necessary for its commissioning and handover for public use. The required geotechnical report on the land has already been carried out by Mijas Town Hall.

The work will follow the guidelines of the Mijas Town Hall’s Infrastructure and Works Department, in coordination with the Andalusian Health Service (SAS) and the company Acosol, currently responsible for the water supply and sewerage service in Mijas. The project will develop the explanatory report and the functional programme of requirements approved by the SAS.

Regarding this functional programme, the design will define separate pedestrian accesses for scheduled activity, emergencies, blood extractions and a separate area for use during a health crisis, proposing a layout that allows the centre to operate under public health alert conditions, including restrictions similar to those applied during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Torres Trella explained that once awarded, the maximum period for drafting the construction project will be 150 calendar days, divided as follows: preliminary draft (30 calendar days), basic project (60 calendar days) and execution project and Health and Safety study (60 calendar days).

The project must apply sustainable development criteria, limiting energy requirements for heating, cooling, domestic hot water, auxiliary energy and electricity in general. Similarly, it must also ensure efficient resource management and minimise overall energy consumption.

  • El proyecto constructivo deberá incluir un estudio climatológico e hidrológico de la zona en la que se asienta.
