The Town Hall has put out to tender the acquisition of walkways, lifeguard modules, sports equipment and public toilets for almost half a million euros

The Town Hall works, as highlighted in a press release, 365 days a year to keep the coastline in optimal condition. Evidence of this can be seen in the numerous distinctions awarded to its beaches, such as Blue Flags and ISO certifications. Now, the Town Hall aims to take a step further and has therefore put out to public tender the acquisition of new equipment worth 483,685.40 euros.

This was announced by the councillor for Beaches, Daniel Gómez Teruel (PP), who explained that companies interested in bidding for the contract have until the 22nd of January to submit their offers. The councillor explained that the new equipment will be used to renew and optimise existing infrastructure and that, given the scope and diversity of the contract, it has been divided into several lots.

Division of the contract into lots

Lot one includes the acquisition of two lifeguard and rescue modules over five metres in height. The module will feature a medical room, a lifeguards’ room, a toilet and a watchtower. The exterior design will be proposed by the contractor, although the Town Hall will retain the final decision.

Lot two provides for six public toilet units, while lot three includes two additional modules adapted for ostomised users. These must be made of synthetic composite material suitable for sanitary use and with antibacterial properties.

Lot four stipulates the installation of 80 transportable concrete platforms measuring 1.8 x 1 metres to facilitate access for people with reduced mobility. These will comply with current accessibility regulations.

  • El lote uno contempla la adquisición de dos módulos de salvamento y socorrismo de más de cinco metros de altura.

Cleaning infrastructure is addressed in lot five, which includes the acquisition of 200 new litter bins. These will feature four top openings to facilitate waste separation. Lot six includes the installation of 30 benches along the Paseo de la Marina and the Coastal Path.

For the adapted beaches, lot seven includes six units of roll-up flexi-walkways, each 1.8 metres wide and installed in ten-metre sections, with reinforced and flat edges to ensure user safety.

Sport is represented in lot eight with the addition of a calisthenics set that will include, among other quipment, eight pull-up bars, one freestyle bar and eight vertical posts.

“This is a very varied and ambitious tender specification aimed at optimising the condition of our beaches and continuing to expand the range of services available to users. Our beaches are our main showcase, which is why we work tirelessly to ensure they are kept in immaculate condition”, said the councillor.
